How to Prepare Your Kids for Effectively Dealing with Frustration
Hey,
How do your kids react when faced with frustration?
The way we cope with frustration is a mix of personality and learned behavior. Today, I have for you an article by Kerrick Lucker about the "learned behavior" part of this equation.
And the best part? I've learnt a lot from this article myself - particularly about dealing with my frustration while raising my sweet but super strong-willed teen.... i.e., handling the fallout when my well-intentioned parenting efforts backfire 🙂
And there are so many great tips for helping our kids too! Here, take a look.
Our featured masterclass this week is the Essentialism Masterclass with Greg McKeown based on the book Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less.
Greg is a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best selling author, speaker and serves as a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum.
In this masterclass we explore the idea of Essentialism to uncover why we (and our kids) feel overwhelmed, overstretched, and yet, unfulfilled and disconnected at the same time. We then look at what to do about it, how to say “no” gracefully, how to break out of FOMO, how to escape the cult of “busy-ness”, how to lead a more peaceful and meaningful life, and so much more.
This mindset and philosophy creates the time and space for so much of what we talk about here in the Academy. I personally love this masterclass and highly recommended making time for it!
