When I first stumbled into positive parenting, I thought it meant staying calm, being endlessly patient, and somehow raising kids who never scream.
Spoiler: that’s not how it went. 🙄
What I’ve learned—slowly, through trial and error, countless deep breaths, and more than a few tears—is that positive parenting isn’t about perfection. It’s about understanding what's really going on underneath the surface, especially when emotions run high.
I used to meet angry outbursts with my own frustration. Now, I try to meet them with curiosity (okay, sometimes still frustration—but it’s a work in progress).
